Living Room
Ideal sizes: 5'x8', 6'x9', 8'x10', 9'x12'
Tips: All furniture legs should sit on the rug (front legs at minimum). Leave 12-18" of bare floor around edges.
Bedroom
Ideal sizes: 5'x8' (twin), 6'x9' (full), 8'x10' (queen), 9'x12' (king)
Tips: Place under the lower two-thirds of the bed. Extend 18-24" beyond sides and foot.
Dining Room
Ideal sizes: 6'x9', 8'x10', 9'x12'
Tips: Rug should extend at least 24" beyond the table edge so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.
Hallway / Runner
Ideal sizes: 2.5'x6', 2.5'x8', 2.5'x10', 2.5'x12'
Tips: Leave 2-4" of flooring visible on each side. Runner length should be 6-12" shorter than the hallway.
